Nara Shared Tour with Crafts Class

Guided chopstick workshop led by a bamboo craftsman with 16 years of teaching experience

Free cancellation available
Up to 24 hours before the start time
Duration: 1 hour

In Japan, an experienced bamboo craftsman with 16 years’ experience will carefully teach you how to make bamboo chopsticks. You will learn the process under close instruction, with clear guidance tailored to your pace. Along the way, the instructor will explain the techniques involved and help you shape and finish your own pair, so you gain a hands-on understanding of the craft.

The instructor also takes part in on-site workshops and matchmaking events, and often teaches both travellers and local participants, which has allowed many people to experience chopstick making. Custom engravings, such as names or short messages, can be added to your chopsticks, making them a personalised and memorable souvenir of your trip to Japan.
