Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

At a Michelin-listed restaurant you'll make hand-made udon with clear, detailed guidance from an experienced instructor. Along the way you'll learn the techniques needed to recreate the noodles at home, and you'll receive a recipe to take away after the class. If you wish, you may enjoy making your udon while sipping Japanese sake or beer.

After you shape the noodles, the chef will cook them and serve them in beautiful bowls with a special broth made from all-natural, additive-free ingredients, using kombu, shiitake mushrooms and katsuobushi (bonito stock). You may order side dishes such as tempura or extra udon, though these are not included in the fee. Vegetarians are welcome; please let the host know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions. The instructor will take and share photos of your experience so you can keep a visual reminder of the class.
