The Paddy Trail is an easy 11km bicycle loop that starts from your base near Yatagala Temple. You’ll follow local paths and quiet lanes as you pedal through changing scenery. Expect beautiful nature, exotic birds, indigenous wildlife and glimpses of local life as you pass through the Eluvila Bird Sanctuary and meander across green paddy fields.
Along the way you’ll pause in a private jungle garden and rest under a shady ambalama beside a pond of blue water lilies, where you’ll sip fresh king coconut. See if you can spot mango, cashew, cinnamon, banana, jackfruit, calamansi, coconut and pepper trees and bushes as you move through the landscape. The route is gentle and suitable for most riders, offering a relaxed way to explore the area around Yatagala Temple and enjoy its natural highlights.
