From Isla Holbox, you’ll head into the waters where the Caribbean meets the Gulf of Mexico for a close encounter with whale sharks, the world’s largest fish. These impressive animals reach about 45 feet long (14 metres) and permit an up‑close experience under the care of an expert bilingual guide. Along the way you may also see sea turtles, manta rays and dolphins.
A light breakfast is served before you set out, and snorkel gear is provided for time in the water. After swimming with the whale sharks, the outing continues back toward the mainland for more snorkelling and a meal of fresh ceviche made with the day’s catch. Lunch and beverages are included as part of the experience.
The pace is relaxed and focused on enjoying the marine life safely with knowledgeable guidance. You’ll be in the same rich tropical waters where different currents meet, making them a habitat for a variety of sea creatures.
