This walking tour takes you through the most emblematic buildings in Merida’s heart. As you move between plazas and historic façades, you will feel as though you’ve returned to the past while learning about the city’s history and the architecture you pass. Along the way the guide will explain cenotes—their importance and how they formed—and discuss local beliefs such as Mayan aluxes and the Equinox, plus other cultural and urban stories drawn from personal experience.

Morning and evening tours are offered in English, and Spanish can be arranged on request. Morning and evening departures typically include a small bag of Mexican candies, a bottle of water and a postcard picture of Merida for you to keep.
