In Pokhara, you'll join a Tibetan Cultural Tour led by Mr Thupten Gyatso, a native Tibetan with deep connections to the region. The experience focuses on cultural and educational encounters rather than typical sightseeing. Along the way, you'll visit Tibetan refugee settlements to gain a closer, more personal view of daily life in the community.
You will spend time with local Tibetan refugees in Nepal and learn about their culture, religion and resilience. Mr Thupten will share insights into Tibetan history and the role of Buddhism. You will also learn about traditional food, art and crafts, and hear how efforts to preserve Tibetan heritage shape community life. The tour aims to deepen your understanding of Tibetan people and their beliefs through direct contact and thoughtful conversation.
