This tour takes you through Lima’s Historic Center and into some of the city’s modern districts, with a focus on the architecture and history recognised by UNESCO. You will begin at the Basilica and Convent of Santo Domingo, a site steeped in history as the former home of San Marcos University. Inside, you will see ancient chairs and a library that holds 25,000 Dominican books, and you’ll learn about the convent’s historical role in Lima’s religious and educational life.
You will also visit Lima Cathedral, noted for its religious art and for housing the remains of Francisco Pizarro. As you move through the city, the route will include San Isidro and Miraflores, where you will encounter pre-Inca pyramids and a variety of parks. The tour will take you to Parque del Amor, known for its “infinite kiss” sculpture and its views over Lima’s bay, linking the colonial and modern chapters of the city’s story along the way.
