You will begin at Plaza San Martin, a historic square in the heart of Lima, and stroll along the Jiron de la Union, a busy pedestrian street lined with shops and cafés. Along the way, you can visit the Mercado Central to sample local fruits and meet friendly locals, experiencing a taste of Lima’s street life. You will then visit the San Francisco Monastery, known for its catacombs, where you can explore the underground tunnels and learn about the site’s history.
You will continue to Muralla Park to enjoy views of the San Cristobal hill and the surrounding shanty town. Finally, you will walk through the colonial streets to the Main Square (Plaza Mayor of Lima), where you can admire the architecture of the cathedral, the government palace, the city hall and the archbishop’s residence.
