Walking along the Levada, an abandoned water line, will take you into a completely different world. The surroundings often feel almost prehistoric — as if you were in the setting of Jurassic Park, although the dinosaurs are the only things missing. Along the way you follow the old channel and enjoy the unique atmosphere it creates.
The route is physically easy, but you should be prepared for a few wet passages and a short, dark tunnel. The path is out-and-back, so you will return along the same route. The hike can also be done if the weather is not perfect, keeping the experience flexible even on less favourable days.
