This interactive walking tour brings the medieval heart of Brașov — the Crown City of Transylvania — to life. You will move beyond the busy Council Square into hidden corners, following a series of clues and local legends about Saxon settlers, tragic fires and past invaders. Along the way you'll squeeze along Strada Sforii (Rope Street), one of Europe’s narrowest streets, and learn its story.
As you move through the city you'll solve riddles by the Black Church, Eastern Europe’s largest Gothic church, and find out why it became black. You will also walk parts of the old defensive line to Catherine’s Gate and the Weavers' Bastion to see how Brașov once protected itself. The experience is fully flexible and self-guided: there’s no tour guide, you can start anytime, and you may pause for a traditional papanași (donut) and resume instantly. You’ll take on the role of a medieval chronicler — try to solve the clues and protect Brașov’s secrets as you explore.
