Welcome to the Christmas City of Bethlehem. The tour is led by Greg, who spent much of his childhood here and brings local insight; he also knows a few people in the community, such as the Mayor. You’ll use a location-aware walking tour app with audio-narrated stories that play as you walk. You can start whenever you like and follow at your own pace — the tour does not expire. As you move through Bethlehem, the narration will guide you through its history and local stories. You’ll hear about the Moravians who settled here in 1741, the rise of Bethlehem Steel and figures like Charles Schwab, and landmarks such as the Bethlehem Star and the largest individual electric display in the world. Along the way you’ll learn connections to Billy Joel and the Founding Fathers, visit the oldest book shop in the USA, and hear about the first school for girls in the American colonies. The tour also highlights the largest 18th-century log structure in continuous use in the United States, among other historic spots.
