Lunch trip to three countries from Piran

A guided cross-border lunch route with Croatian starters in Hum, Slovenian main in Rodik, and coffee in Trieste

Free cancellation available
Up to 24 hours before the start time
Duration: 6 hours

This experience is built around a single, memorable idea: you will eat lunch in three countries. Along the way you’ll see small historic places and regional flavours.

You’ll begin in Croatia with starters in Hum, which the Guinness Book of Records calls the smallest city in the world. Here you’ll typically have bobiči, a traditional Istrian minestrone with vegetables and pieces of ham, and a glass of wine will be on the table. Hum has kept the look of an early medieval town, so you’ll get a sense of its atmosphere as you eat. Next you’ll move into Slovenia to an inn in Rodik, set on the Karst and not far from the Lipica stud farm. Here you’ll have a national Slovenian gourmet main course, and after lunch you’ll continue to Lipica to see, from the outside, the terrains of the stud farm that dates back to 1580 and is regarded as the oldest in Europe.

The final stop will be in Italy, in Trieste on Unity Square, the city known for its coffee. You’ll drink coffee there and then slowly return to Portoroz.
