Onboard the Kanoa II, you will go on a whale-watch adventure off Hawaii to view and hear humpback whales as they journey to the islands to breed and nurse their young. Along the way, you will watch for breaching, fin slaps and other surface behaviour while taking in sea and island scenery. The trip is led with natural-history context so the sightings are explained as you observe them.
A marine naturalist will provide live narration, helping you understand whale behaviour and the local marine environment. Underwater hydrophones are used so you can listen to whale song beneath the surface. Light snacks, soft drinks and coffee are included for your comfort during the outing.
