On this Frightseeing Adventure, your resident Ghost Host will lead you through stories of the city’s darker past. The tour includes a visit to Tolomato Cemetery, where you will hear accounts of an apparition reportedly seen playing on the sacred grounds after dark. Guides will share tales both true and unnerving that illuminate the cemetery’s history and the people connected to it.
Along the way, you will hear about specific figures linked to the sites. The apparition at Tolomato is sometimes linked to the spirit of five‑year‑old James, or to the so‑called Ghost Bride who is said to be still waiting for her walk down the aisle. As you pass the old City Gates, keep watch: Elizabeth, a child victim of yellow fever, is said to wave to passersby. These stories are presented with the same mix of historical context and local lore, and sightings are reported rather than guaranteed.
