In Seward, you’ll try your hand at panning for Alaskan gold beside a salmon stream. The activity takes place at elevated troughs set up near the water, so you’ll be close to the natural setting without being in the stream itself.
You’ll learn the basics of gold panning and practise the techniques needed to separate heavier material from lighter sediment in the troughs. The experience is family friendly, so it’s suitable for adults and children to enjoy together. Along the way, you’ll get a hands-on feel for a traditional prospecting method while spending time beside the salmon stream in Seward.
