At a charming tea and apothecary shop in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, you'll join a seasoned clinical herbalist to explore the art and science of tea crafting. Surrounded by a selection of 250 diverse herbs, you will learn the science behind how herbs can benefit the body and the principles that guide their use. Along the way you'll study how flavours, aromas and healthful properties interact, and how to combine them to create balanced, pleasant blends.
As you move through the session, the focus will be both practical and sensory. You will practise blending techniques and taste combinations so you can develop truly personalised tea recipes. The experience offers a sensory journey while imparting knowledge about the therapeutic qualities of herbs, and by the end of the class you will feel confident in the basics of herbal tea craftsmanship. Each participant will also leave with a jar of Société tea to take home.
