This is the same wave you’ve grown to love, now with a new name. Mellow waves will break off the point with split-peak rights and lefts, giving you easy, ocean-like take-offs that crumble into a waist-high, peeling line and a close-out end section. The session is a crowd-pleaser because it’s not too aggressive and suits many styles of surfing. You’ll enjoy rides of around 10–12 seconds and typically catch about 10–12 waves per session.
This session is aimed at less experienced surfers who can paddle into and stand up on unbroken waves. It’s ideal for longboards, funboards and fishes, and it’s a great place for younger surfers to progress. Surfers on hybrid shortboards who want to link a few turns will also find it suitable. Minimum age is 10 years old, though exceptions can be made for highly skilled youth.
