You will practise assembling geometric patterns and learn techniques for laying the tiles (tesserae) used in traditional Turkish mosaics. Working from a geometric template you choose, an instructor will guide you step by step as you create your own traditional Turkish mosaic lamp. With expert guidance, you will explore creative techniques and develop the skills behind this 500‑year‑old craft.
Along the way you will enjoy a Turkish tea service with treats and homemade Turkish shortbread biscuits. At the end of the workshop you will take your finished lamp home. This experience is the only one of its kind in the USA and gives you a hands‑on introduction to an enduring artistic tradition.
