On Sea Maui’s spacious catamaran you’ll head out to search for humpback whales in Maui’s winter playground. During Sea Maui’s winter months (15 December–15 April) these whales migrate from the cold waters of Alaska to the warm, calm seas off Ka'anapali to give birth and train their calves. Along the way you may spot breaches, tail slaps and mother‑and‑calf behaviour. Certified naturalists will be on board if you want to learn more, or you can simply relax on a bean bag with a cocktail and enjoy the show. A full open bar is included, and complimentary reef‑safe sunscreen is provided.
The check‑in point is easy to find at The Whaler’s Village Shopping Center — our kiosk sits along the beach walk between Leilani’s and Hula Grill. All crew members are lifeguard and CPR certified, and naturally trained for whale watches. Tours are barefoot, so wear shoes that you can easily kick off and store when you board. A hat with a chin strap, waterproof materials or a broad brim, a shirt with a light jacket and shorts, and a light rain jacket are recommended to keep comfortable while you’re on deck.
