If you've never tried rock climbing, indoors or outdoors, this introductory course will get you started. Sessions take place in Washington State, at Mt. Erie in Anacortes, at Little Si or Mt. Washington near Seattle, or on the crags near Bellingham. Washington’s varied terrain makes it a good place to begin a climbing hobby.
You will learn fundamental rope skills and how to belay safely. After this adventurous course, you will be able to pass any gym’s belayer test. Routes can be very easy, almost like climbing on a playground, or you can try steeper lines if you want to push your limits. Along the way you will build practical confidence and the core skills needed to climb with others, whether you move on to indoor walls or outdoor routes.
