In southeast Alaska you’ll join the crowd for the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show, a lively showcase of the region’s logging heritage. Frontier lumberjacks from Alaska take on British Columbia’s premier woodsmen in a no‑holds‑barred contest for the title of “Bull of the Woods.” World champion athletes will demonstrate chopping, sawing, axe throwing, log rolling and a dramatic 50‑foot tree climb, while your host shares stories and lumberjack lore along the way.
After the show you’ll get a chance to try axe throwing yourself. You’ll be taught the technique for throwing a 5 lb double‑bit axe, practice that new skill, and then go head to head in a competition against other participants. The experience blends live sport, storytelling and hands‑on activity for all ages.
