At Tenikwa in Plettenberg Bay, you’ll join a guided wildlife tour that focuses on South Africa’s indigenous wild cats and other local species. You’ll have opportunities to photograph lions, leopard, cheetahs, serval, caracal and African wildcats, and you may also see meerkats, warthog and African penguins as you move through the reserve. The experience is designed to bring you close to these animals while observing them in a managed setting.
Along the way, you’ll learn about the challenges these species face in the wild and about the centre’s work in wildlife rehabilitation. The tour explains how Tenikwa treats injured or orphaned animals and works to return them to their natural habitats where possible. By visiting, you’ll both learn about conservation efforts and support a rehabilitation centre that cares for local wildlife.
