Situated on the far side of Elephantine Island, Ajwa Guest House has an exceptional view at any hour of the day. It was a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly warm and friendly, always ready to help and share information about the island and its history. Their hospitality made my trip even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was that the hotel allowed me to store my luggage overnight for free, which was very convenient and thoughtful. The room was also very clean and comfortable, meeting all my expectations.

Everything was perfect, the location just a minute away the public ferry, the incredible terrace with breathtaking view over the Nile, spotless clean big room, etc. There was even a sandstorm the night before and when we arrived you couldn't see a grain of sand. Best of all is Mohammed, the owner, who went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had all we need. He arrange for someone to come and pick up my heavy suitcase as I was traveling alone with children, organized a really nice captain to visit the Nubian village, etc. Would come back in a heartbeat.

The family running the guesthouse was very hospitable and helpful, arranging all our activities and transport, and even letting us stay a bit longer after checkout until our late evening flight. Elephantine Island is a quiet, peaceful spot - in my opinion, so much nicer staying here than staying in the city or the Nubian village, which feels very hectic. As a bonus, the views from the property are beautiful!
