This place has a very good location – in the city center, close to supermarkets with good food, cafés, the waterfront, Perry Road, and Shimoda Park with viewpoints nearby. You can also ask for a bicycle, which was important for me. The sea is about a 15-minute walk to the nearest beach, but with a bicycle I could easily go to different beaches, including Shirahama. I chose this place to stay closer to the center, so for me this was not a drawback. The house itself is very cozy, with great attention and love given to every detail. Lots of warm wood, everything you need to prepare slow-brew coffee, and a good kitchen that has everything you could wish. The hosts are truly wonderful: always available, very responsive, and the interaction was just a pleasure – this alone deserves a big heart :) I lived in two rooms: smaller one, for one person, is on the ground floor next to the common area. The house is in a traditional Japanese style, and the walls are fairly thin, so it’s good to keep that in mind. Personally, I wasn’t disturbed at all and nobody bothered me, but I did sleep with earplugs (I usually do anyway, and here also because the AC unit is inside the small room). If you’re a very light sleeper, it’s something to keep in mind (like me – that’s why I always have earplugs and a sleep mask with me). Other rooms are located upstairs. I would return here again if I come back to Shimoda. The city, the surroundings, and the people left a very good impression. It is also an interesting spot for diving, although I didn’t manage this time. Thank you for the stay.

Location and view is an absolutely stunning. The views at night are very good. You might even see fireworks in the distance. The unit is very clean and very spacious. AC worked great! Kids like the beach but calmer waves you have to drive to another one.

The location could not have been better for the Black ship Festival! Right in the middle of everything.

The house is in a great location about 8 minutes walk to the beach. It's well stocked with plenty of cookware and dishes for large groups. The pool table was a hit and the living room set up is very comfy, great for hanging out as a group. Although it was rainy when we were there, we also enjoyed the grill and eating out on the patio. The beds were comfy, the AC functioned well, and we had a great time. The closest beach is better for surfing, but there are many in the area great for swimming (though we swam at Shirahama beach too and had a great time). FYI, pets are an additional 8k yen per pet per night, up to 3 pets.

Everything. The owners were so kind and thoughtful, walking us through the checkin process and tour. They made us feel so at home. The room was amazing, we had Japanese style with tatami mats and slept on futons. I highly recommend staying in one of these rooms instead of the regular beds. You don’t have your private bathroom, but they’re right outside your door and the bath is lovely. Yukatas were also provided so we enjoyed the full experience. Lovely location. You do walk up a hill from the bus, but it’s worth the climb. Amazing views. Shirahama beach is beautiful, and there is a nice cafe/shop down the road where you can eat until 7pm. There’s also a seven eleven at the base of the hill. So beautiful, so much care, and it was like we had a nice home stay. Will be back.

Beautiful beach in walking distance, beautiful natural surroundings over all, friendly staff, nice atmosphere and interior of the guesthouse. The area, Izu Peninsula is beautiful and relaxing.

Private onsen was great ! Location is very close to the beach but you have to take a bus from train station.

It was a 5-10 min walk to the beach. the view from the infinity pool was spectacular same with the two open air baths which can use for free. The rooms are all clean, the fact that they dont let you wear your outside shoes inside the hotel was a plus for me even if its a little inconvenience when you need to go out real quick. The staff were all awesome.

The owner of the place was a very kind person and the place was very welcoming.

The facility is very near the Shirahama beach, literally just 5mins by foot. It has a very spacious parking lot and no need to ask for advance reservation. The place is so clean and has all you need.

We love the pool and easy access to the beach.

The Ocean front view and the hotspring were fantastic and unforgettable. Waking up with the peaceful view of sunrise over the ocean through the bedroom window was the BEST! The Breakfast was to die for, so many options and everything was delicious, including fresh fruits & salad. Can’t beat the experience and value. Wish we had more time to enjoy the Resort and beautiful private beach! Staff was most helpful and courteous!

It was fancy, staff were nice, there was a lot of activities inside the hotel as well as the Black Ship, restaurant, and walking area outside of the hotel.

The home was very spacious, beds clean and comfortable and the kitchen had everything you need to cook for a large family. The sauna was used daily as it was a great amenity.

The location, the house itself and the kindness of the host

The staff were so kind and understanding with our lack of Japanese language. They really made an effort to check on us and make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. It is a special location with a beautiful ocean view and the hot bath on the terrace was really relaxing.

It's amazing! Rooms are very clean, with everything you need for beautiful days at the beach. Breakfast was really good, we also had an amazing pizza night! The pizzas were very tasty! Good people, good place we loved!

The room accommodated our family of 5, and the hotel breakfast is one of the best I’ve ever had. The onsen was wonderful.
