The location was amazing! It was right by the ocean and had a good view. Additionally the property itself was really nice. There were many old, intriguing objects to look at inside and everything was clean and well maintained. It was a bit like staying at a museum. Also the host, Taka, was extremely helpful and answered immediately when we were trying to find the property in the dark. He also answered all questions we had and showed us how to set up our beds and use different appliances!

Value The Hotel Higashi Matsushima Yamoto features free WiFi, a restaurant and drinks vending machines, a 1-minute drive from the expressway’s Sanrikudo Yamoto exit.

This is highly recommended value hotel with really special setup. This is the first time I am sleeping in a hotel room with two doors, two toilets, comfortable two single beds. Our rooms come with breakfast, the hotel is walking distance to Aeon Town which has all types of pharmacy, groceries, supermarkets, restaurants and etc. Lobby area has a lot of vending machines for drinks, food, and free flow coffee and tea too. Checking on their hotel details and it's available in many perfectures. Will keep an eye on this hotel when I travel again to Japan.

RISE BEACH Okumatsushima is located in Higashimatsushima, just 16 miles from Shiogama Shrine and 25 miles from Sendai City Community Support Center.

It's a little hard to find at first, but all you hear is nature. Domomo barely had a signal, and Softbank was not much better. Next to the river, what a relaxing sound. Best night of sleep in years, if not decades. There are two dogs so if you are allergic, do not go. They are friendly and full of love and might I say, spoiled! My partner is Japanese and he said this experience is authentic. Steve is very personable and welcoming. Note: I believe up to 10 guests can be housed (verify with Steve to be sure).

Akiu Canada 鴻の巣温泉 Konosu Onsen is a recently renovated campground in Sendai where guests can make the most of the garden and shared lounge.
