d'artemsia was EXCEPTIONAL! The host was so gracious and suggested a wonderful place for dinner. And the room! Every detail from large fluffy towels to properly scaled furnishings to every amenity. The entire place was decorated beautifully including a lovely garden and an indoor sitting area. Breakfast was beautifully prepared and presented on china. This is one of the most outstanding places we've stayed.

Very quaint room and setting, with a friendly welcome and everything we needed for the price. Given some of the reviews on here, our expectations were very low - but after our stay they really felt unfair. Particularly as it was by far the cheapest place in the area, and it needs to be viewed through that lens - if you want fancy sheets and gourmet breakfasts, by all means go and pay €100+ a night somewhere else. The host didn't speak much English, but made up with it in enthusiasm and we were able to communicate well.

Lovely B&B, steeped in family history. The host, Pierre, was very gracious and was in touch with us from the day before. He met us in Arnad, and then led us up the mountain, a 20 min lovely drive to the accommodation, 1000 meters up. There we parked our car and he took our luggage up to the apartments. Our apartment was very roomy, excellently equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom and huge bedroom. All the amenities were provided, and the views are just breathtaking. The host told us the place belonged to his grandparents, and he used to spend his summers there. 50 years ago a researcher came there and took pictures of his grandparents and people of the village. The pictures are all on the walls . The breakfast was great, with local cheeses and sausages, a lovely lady making us eggs and hot beverages. Croissants and 3 different kinds of breads, various yogurts and juices. And a local cake. They explained that Arnad is famous for the local Lard, which was served with breakfast and was delicious. When we left again Pierre helped with the luggage and drove it all to our car. Great value for money. I can't wait to stay again! Advice: Prepare a small suitcase for the night so you don't need to carry all your luggage up steps. Also prepare to bring food for dinner, there are condiments and pots and pans in the kitchen, a mini fridge as well. There is no close by place to buy stuff or restaurant. In any case if there were any problem Pierre was available to help.
