Absolutely charming! The guesthouse is well furnished and decorated from head to toe in Studio Ghibli memorabilia. The owner and staff are very friendly; they were patient with any misunderstandings that come from being a non-native Japanese speaker. We played a couple rounds of Super Street Fighter 2 on Super Famicom! Also, Kuku is a very well behaved dog; such a gentleman!

It's a great cozy stay in a traditional Japanese house in Saitama. Mariko is a wonderful host who makes a delicious breakfast and dinner. She is also a great conversationalist and you will learn a lot about traditional Japanese culture and history from her. The place is a bit far from the train station but she will offer car rides to and from there.

Host was super nice and helpful! I didn't have cash yet so he let me leave the parking money on the table at check out. He explained everything so clearly and the apartment had many amenities I didn't expect. There is a 7-11 and a wonderful ramen shop just a block or so away and vending machines right across the street! The neighborhood was very quiet at night and not too busy during the day. They provided bathing products and the soap made my skin feel amazing! The whole apartment is just for you and the price is hard to beat!
