Sukau village view stay and backpackers offer different activities including river cruises and jungle walks. The guides are brilliant, really knowledgeable and clearly love what they do. We were lucky enough to see all 5 of the big 5 on our river cruises, the highlight was definitely seeing the elephants crossing the river! Everyone at the hostel was really welcoming friendly and helpful, and we definitely recommend this as a base for exploring the Borneo rainforest. Meals are available too and the food is really tasty. There are also local restaurants along the river - we went to Restaurant Simpang Tiga (next to the hostel's jetty) and can recommend this too

The lodging was very clean and simple. And about 25 steps to the dock for the river safari. And another 30 steps or so to the restaurant. The lodging staff, the guides and the restaurant staff were all nice, helpful and professional. The location is stunning. I already miss the peace of the river and the jungle. The price is good and the service is fantastic. Recommend highly.

I like family operated… meals prepared on site and delicious… rooms were clean and comfortable… Guides, especially Bam, were very knowledgeable and Bam is a conservationist who has studied rainforest for 26 years… You won’t be disappointed. Thanks Bam for everything.

We loved our stay here. We had reserved for 2 nights and they suggested the 3d 2n package and we finally stayed 3 nights. We did all the jungle cruises with John and it was great. John is wonderful and passionate about his job. We saw pygmy elephants, monkeys, lots of birds etc... The food was included in the package and we appreciated the organization. The location is perfect to explore the kinabatangan River. There is a small store not far from the hotel.

Great staff made the stay very worth while. Food was excellent and we saw a lot of animals on the boat rides.

For added privacy, the accommodation features a private entrance. A buffet, Asian, or vegetarian breakfast is available at the property. Sandakan Airport is 76 miles away.

Nice and quiet place across the river from the village. Wonderful host and hospitable family. The cottages are cozy with a good mattress and mosquito nets. And you have your own bathroom! It's on the standard you would expect for a cheap place in a remote location. Jungle feeling with some comfort. The food they cook is very good and they provide boat tours 3 times a day. Also, Adira helped me with transportation and organised pick up and drop off service for the bus. Would definitely stay there again. Thank you Adira and family!
