We were looking for an alternative to the usual business hotel for a one-night stay near Geneva Airport and were fortunate to discover La Ferme du Lignon – a lovely bed and breakfast style stay located within an old working farm on the banks of the Rhône River. Rooms are beautifully and tastefully renovated, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The in-room Nespresso coffee machine/pods, kettle/tea bags, and wine glasses (buy a bottle from the onsite market shop) were a nice touch, although there are a few restaurants, a McDonald's, and a supermarket within a 10-minute walk. The host, Stefan, was super helpful and friendly and easy to communicate with via WhatsApp – keep an eye out for head farm cat "Marius," a very handsome white and ginger boy. We didn't use the free public transport pass or have the buffet breakfast, but Stefan mentioned both were options for guests. Yes, La Ferme du Lignon is framed in part by views of the world-famous Le Lignon housing development (essentially a town within a town designed by architect Georges Addor), but it does not detract from the peaceful nature, ambiance, or charm of the property.

B&B Domaine En Trembley enjoys a location in Commugny, 11 miles from PalExpo and 11 miles from United Nations Geneva. This bed and breakfast features free private parking and daily room service.

We stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed our time. The location is excellent, from our room we had a beautiful view of part of Lake Geneva and the city itself, while from the breakfast room the panorama opens up completely, with Mont Blanc in the background. Our room was clean, well equipped, and came with a balcony, which made the stay even more pleasant. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. If you are lucky, you might even be able to buy a beer to enjoy in your room. The hotel offers two parking spaces right in front of the entrance, plus a few more just behind the building. Overall, it’s a comfortable place to stay with wonderful views and a warm atmosphere.

This was our first night on the Way of St. Jacques walking Pilgrimage from Geneva to Le Puy en Velay. So we just needed a place to overnight in Neydens. It was great for that. Plus the house was clean and filled with interesting wood sculptures.

La villa is located in Nernier, just 15 miles from Jet d'Eau and 16 miles from Cornavin Train Station. Free Wifi is offered throughout the property and private parking is available on site.

Great location, comfortable, quiet rooms and a lovely breakfast. Out of season on a Tuesday in June? All restaurants in the village were closed but Yvoire, which is just a 5 minute drive away had plenty of restaurants so not a problem. Plus you will want to visit that village to appreciate all it has to offer.
