staying on Narrowboat "Powys" on the Grand Union canal only 5 minutes walk to Paddington was the most enjoyable trip to London that I've had. The quiet and peace on the canal is so unexpected for London but until you've sat out on the bow or the transom and enjoyed your morning tea watching the ducks swim by you will never understand how lovely and peaceful it is. The Kitchen is a big bonus and having breakfast on the boat and some snacks for the evening was a serious benefit. The information provided will help you navigate the differences as it is a boat after all but I loved it.

Great location, easy to find and very quiet. We stayed with our two teenage daughters who both initially were horrified when we told them that we're staying on a boat this year, instead of a hotel. After approx 2 mins of stepping on the boat, they were very happy with our choice of accomodation. The boat is very clean and well presented, the pictures don't give it enought justice! We were hit by a storm and consequently worried about getting a good nights sleep, but the boat ballasts did their job and we all had a good night. Most reviews mention Emma, and for good reason, wonderful welcome and excellent demo on how to use the boats facilities etc. If the starts align and it works, we'll be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is like glamping in the centre of everything - an easy walk from Kings Cross / St Pancras. There is a modern pub right across the canal and a movie theatre nearby. Also an interesting floating bookstore and the canal museum. Shops and other amenities are not far away. We loved having coffee on the deck in this lively, historic and quirky neighbourhood! Facilities on the boat are very good - a fireplace for warmth, a gas stove, coffee and French press. You can sit indoors or out. Check in was contactless and easy. Host was super responsive to our questions.

We had a gorgeous stay on "Princess Lucy". Loved the quaint and cozy atmosphere of staying in the boat and lovely furnishings.. Prompt and helpful communication with the host. Loved the proximity to Little Venice and lovely local food offerings, particularly the Bridge House. One of the highlights was our tour down the cana into Camdenl provided by the host.
