We picked the accommodation for its architecture and took delight in the contemporary design that we feel remains faithful to the traditional Japanese ryokan experience. The staff were really helpful from checking us in to going through the house rules to discussing the breakfast menu. We are appreciative the English translator assistance, especially with our beginner level Japanese. The breakfast was a simply yet filling Western breakfast and we took delight in making our own coffee with the coffee apparatus in the room. The nearby onsen was also complimentary and designated carparking is available. We wish we have more time to experience and appreciate the hospitality and the town. Hopefully we will be able to converse about the architecture and design at our next visit.

This was our fourth trip to Japan and we've stayed in many ryokans. This is one of our favorites. The space we stayed at was huge. It was a two-story stand alone building. The seats looked out onto the courtyard with a pond and a lot of trees, which was very peaceful. I'm usually not the type to stay in my hotel/ryokan all day, but this place tempted me to do so due to the serenity of the courtyard. There were two private onsen that were easy to access due to the small number of guests that stay here. The food was fabulous. While walking around one morning I found a hiking trail that led up to castle ruins. The next morning I hiked up to the ruins and down the other side and came out near the Moss Land.

Room was very spacious and clean with private onsen on the other side of the hallway, next to the room. Check-in was done with QR-code and it was simple process (english as well!). The restaurant close by was excellent! One of the best experiences in my whole trip.
