perfect stay. The family lives downstairs, while you stay upstairs. Good AC and internet. Also the options to rent a board and bike. Everything was clean and the host was very friendly. Although communication in English was difficult, they tried their best. Also offerer me a ride to the train station, which was very appreciated. Thank you!

Our stay was perfect! Mieko-san and her husband were incredibly kind and welcoming. Mieko-san even hosted a small workshop where we made souvenirs together and she let me try on some of her beautiful kimonos. They were eager to share their knowledge of Japanese culture, especially unique aspects of life in Tako-machi. The ryokan itself is cozy and makes you feel at home. It was clean, comfortable, and full of character. We would come back to this ryokan for the owners alone, but the town also has its charm - letting us experience authentic japanese everyday life on the country side. Our stay in Tako-machi and Masugataya Ryokan was truly unforgettable<3

This is an amazing property; everything about it was wonderful (the SUP needs more air…). We loved the design, layout, air movement, lighting, furniture, appliances everything. The loft is too low to actually sleep in I think without crawling in and out of bed. It would probably be a great play space for kids. The bath was incredible and I could see having a balcony hot tub BBQ with a total of 12 members staying! There was no pet smell which is nice though the carpet did have a small left over odor of maybe urine? Our pets found that spot and were rolling around there on the carpet. When we went to check why we found the smell (only with our faces in the carpet.) Aside from the points noted below we still give this place a very high rating because it truly was an excellent stay. So thank you for providing synchronized a wonderful experience.
