Melody put so much love into her guesthouse. The decor is in 3D if you look closely, the rooms are comfortable, she is such a great host. As soon as you book she sends you places to visit and where to eat, not just a few options but very many. She takes personal care of you. Her breakfast is homemade.

The guesthouse is amazing piece of history, not only the building itself, but the owners managed to collect many old pieces of furniture, electronics and games, but and the same time you feel very comfortable, because even on that old tv you can watch your netflix show. It’s a very nice combination of old and modern. Owners are really nice, they don’t speak English much, but they were really helpful with everything I needed, even picked me up at the local train station after my more than 30 hours long journey, I really appreciated it. I would definitely come back, I really enjoyed my time here.

Very thoughtful host, loved the light snacks, coffee and tea in the lobby. The area is also very walkable and convenient. Nice balcony to chill, just a bit dusty as it’s open-air, but no biggie.

Location is perfect (3 mins walk to red line). The place is so clean, beds are very comfortable and chilling area is so lovely. The staff is so sweet. I told Jane at checkin I was going to Hualien and she typed 3 pages of recommendations and printed them for me without me even asking. The kindest. Not sure why this place isn’t rated 10/10.

Ming Shan Villa is placed in Dashu, just a 5-minute drive to E-DA Theme Park.
