The owner, is nice and welcoming. The place is pleasant, well-equipped, and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. They serve very delicious food, and everything is very affordable. Highly recommended!

It was a lovely place, super cozy and with such a beautiful view - a little hidden gem. The room was very cozy and warmed up for us when we arrived on an unexpectedly cold day in October. The owner/host was very friendly and accommodated all of our requests. I would definitely go back there if I had a way and would also recommend the place to friends.

A very calm and peaceful surroundings and a friendly staff. Nice food at the restaurant and close to (short) hikes to see the monastery and pyramid viewpoints. Would come back!

Great hospitality and support from the host. She provided even medical pills that we needed due to a difficulty we had, after the communication with a local Medical Doctor. Fresh homemade food for breakfast and dinner. We bought very good local wine at reasonable price.

Everyone was really kind and caring. I would say I haven't seen such kind people for a while. Although the hotel doesn't have all the stars, people working there make the difference.

This hidden gem in the Bulgarian mountains, appropriately named Asgard, offers an unforgettable escape into nature. The entire resort is built around the owner’s retirement dream of caring for horses, and that passion shines through every detail. The absolute highlight of our stay was the incredible herd of horses roaming completely free across the land during the day. Watching them live naturally against a backdrop of gorgeous mountain vistas was truly magical. Every evening, the experience became even more special. The horses would gather for a refreshing bath in a pond made specifically for them before heading to the stables for food and care. The accommodations consist of beautiful chalet-apartments built by the owner himself. To top it off, his wife runs a small on-site restaurant serving farm-to-table local dishes. The people here are deeply hospitable, making the entire stay feel warm, authentic, and peaceful. Asgard is about nurturing your soul through the therapeutic presence of these beautiful and wise animals, of the majestic nature and of the really good and hard-working people who truly respect and cherish the nature. We highly recommend Asgard to anyone looking to disconnect and experience something truly unique.

The apartment is great for visiting the sandstone pyramids in Melnik. Our kids loved the bedroom upstairs and the beds were very comfortable. The restaurant is reasonably priced and very convenient since there's no kitchen(ette) or fridge in the apartment (but the staff was very accommodating and stored our food in the kitchen). All the staff were very nice and helpful with suggestions (about food and sights). Would definitely stay here again.

The location is great. I was extremely pleased with all of the recommendations the host and her husband provided. I specifically liked the food recommendations.

We enjoyed our stay at Mario Hotel, it is situated vis a vis from a public park and very close to main commercial street in Melnik. There is free parking on front of the property, on the street. The property itself is clean and well maintained, the pool was perfect to refresh on a hot August day.

The location is probably the best possible. The host is very generous and nice person. The staff helpful and nice. The food is the standard of great local food. I was very grateful that in a peak season the host let us sign out later that day and that was free of charge. I would definitely recommend the place and stay every time when visiting Melnik!!

Clean room, lovely small patio outside overlooking green hills and roses in the garden. The crib for our son was great. Breakfast was a big spread with some fresh fruit jams. Will be back in warmer weather to take advantage of the swimming pool!

Breakfast was amazing, as was the coffee. Really liked the wine museum across the street and wine cellar/tasting bar a little further up. View from the room was great. Minimal noise allowed relaxation with nature. Overall really enjoyed the stay and would recommend.

The hosts are so warm hospitable people, that make you feel like home, cooking delicious homemade meals and tasty breakfasts that you will never forget. The room is very clean and cosy, it has everything you need. I highly recommend Hotel Mehana Vodenitsata if you are looking for an exceptional stay in the region of Melnik and Petrich.
