The host was very helpful with getting or luggage transported.

Our host was lovely. Our fellow travelers were enthusiastic and generous. We loved being able to cook our dinner in a clean kitchen.

The entire property, location, most important is Aya was so nice and helpful. She was the first person who speaks English we met, up to the date. She prepared vegetables instant noodle and other dry food for us, which I hardly can get in my whole trip in Japan. Aya also delivered our luggage to our next hotel free of charge. Thank you very much Aya!

The host is very nice, she makes sure all the guest’s request are satisfied.

The staff were very friendly and extra helpful. They properly explained the features and facilities of the hotel, as well as the rules and regulations. They were also very prompt. Dinner was served exactly at 6:30PM. Talking about the dinner, it was exceedingly delicious and sumptuous. There were a total of 13 Japanese dishes, and the staff took time to explain how to eat them and in what order. The hotel also had both private and public onsens (shared with other guests). My friends and I had the best experience, given that we had just completed our Kumano Kodo. Breakfast was equally delicious. Lastly, we are deeply grateful to the staff member who drove us to the nearest bus station to ensure that we did not miss our forward schedule. Everyone, book your stay at the Yunominesou. It’s super worth it.

Two private onsens; right on the river where you can dig your own onsen and have it fill with natural warm water; delicious meals; very friendly staff who assisted us with a luggage shuttle at late notice.

The kitchen is well equipped. The owner is very helpful and accommodating. Great place!!

The view from the parking lot is the only saving grace of this place. Other than that there was a plus in that the host was responsive via whatsapp.

The host was very accommodating when I arrived a lot later than planned, which I really appreciate. The beds were comfy, facilities all clean and new. Would definitely stay again

Tucked away in a peaceful, beautiful setting, this is easily one of the best BnBs.

Staying at Chanoka was a true highlight of our recent trip to Japan. Our room felt like a private retreat, with an epic view and every comfort thoughtfully provided: cozy chairs, tatami flooring, a lovely selection of teas (of course!), and a private washroom. After long days of hiking, it was exactly the kind of comfortable, welcoming space we needed. We opted for dinner, breakfast, and bento lunches, and were so glad we did. Every dish we enjoyed in the beautiful traditional dining room was exceptional. We especially appreciated the care behind each preparation and the thoughtful explanations that accompanied the meals. It’s clear that Jordan and his wife care deeply about the land they steward, the food they grow and prepare, and their tea harvest. I left with a deep appreciation for the subtle, layered flavours of roasted green tea, rice, soy sauce, and other delicacies, and with a lasting sense of genuine hospitality. Jordan also kindly drove us to the trailhead in the morning - a welcome treat for our sore muscles. After we left, we realized just how much we appreciated Chanoka’s peaceful setting, tucked away from the hubbub of Hongu. We will definitely be back.
