Cheap hotels in Shiraoi

Mika and Kyo were wonderful host and I wish this spot wasn't just for a single night before a flight the next morning. They met us on the property where I thought they would simply show us around and how not to break things, but then they went above and beyond to give us personal recommendation, make our reservations and even meet us later at the restaurant to get us started on the ordering as foreign tourist. The house also had so many special little touches. Toilets tend to be cold in Japan and on top of a heated bidet there was an automatic little heater by the feet that turns on when you walk in. Smalls great, clean, and we'll stocked. Cozy with a projector for you to stream films, large tub, and good appliances. Definitely want to come back for a few days of surfing next time! Thank you for an experience we weren't expecting.

The place is clean and morden. Has all basic amenities. Loved the onsen tub. Enough room for our family of 6. Conbini 2 minutes walk. Quiet neighborhood. Close to Ainu Museum and Jigokudani where we visited.

Our main reason for going to Shiraoi was to visit Upopoy and Livemax is a close walk away. There is a large lobby from which there is the check-in counter, waiting area, dining area, small store, the men's & women's onsens, lounge & microwave for public use. There is also a shelf with yukatas & geta to choose from. We are allowed to walk around the hotel with the yukata. The 5th flr has lounges that face Upopoy on one side and the ocean on the other. There is also an outdoor patio facing the ocean. Livemax is one of the tallest buildings in the area. Our room had tatami floors w/the futon and bedding stored in the closet for us to lay out when needed. There was a seating area with 2 chairs & coffee table by the window. There is only a toilet and sink in the room. The building is not new and the rooms and furnishings are dated, but it offers a great value especially since we had the buffet dinner and buffet breakfast included. Both offered a large selection of Japanese, Chinese and Western options. There was a portable burner on the table so we could grill our own Shiraoi beef or Gengis Khan lamb for dinner along with an assortment of sashimi, sushi, tempura and various other foods. The onsen was nice to relax in during the morning or evening. There were multiple pools, so it didn't seem crowded. The staff we encountered were friendly and though I don't speak Japanese, we were able to communicate. Near Livemax is a Coop market & store and a Daiso. Across from the Coop, is a stop for the bus that goes directly to the Noboribetsu Onsen bus terminal.

Off-street undercover bicycle storage. Excellent welcome. Excellent kitchen. Two sitting areas, one on each floor. Comfortable room. Quiet street. Convenience store nearby. Lovely view of the mountains. Everything was good!

Wonderful onsen. The hotel was exceptionally clean. They wiped the wheels if our luggage upon arrival and stressed use of slippers rather than shies - lockers available with keys once yoh took your shoes off. The breakfast was outstanding.
