Cheap hotels in Kataragama

Had to give a shoutout to the staff – they were absolutely amazing! Super helpful and really know their stuff. Whether you’re planning to visit the Kataragama Dewalaya or go on a Yala safari, they’ll hook you up with the best options at very reasonable prices. They even have someone who can sort out your “Pooja watti” for you. And if you haven’t pre-ordered food, no stress – they’ll get it delivered from a nearby shop in just a few minutes. The place itself is great too – clean, spacious rooms with hot water. For the price, it’s more than worth it. Definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a safe, comfortable, and budget-friendly place to stay!

Wonderfully welcoming people! We had such a nice time here. It's quite rustic and simple, but the rooms are clean, the pool is pleasant, and the proprietors really went the extra mile to make us feel at home. Good homemade food! I like how it's a bit off the main road so it feels very remote and rural. Beautiful views! It didn't hurt that I saw a pair of Paradise Flycatchers bathing in a little water basin. Not a bad spot for birds!

We requested a special room since one of us was injured and they were really helpful.

Absolutely lovely place just a short walk from the main town area, but they have bicycles you can borrow if you'd prefer a quicker trip. Lovely host family, with the young fella running the place going above and beyond to make your stay there as nice as possible. Just watch out for the monkeys trying to steal your delicious breakfast ;)

Very close to yala, nice family, spacious room with a warm shower, and they organized a great safari for us!

Wadula Safari was amazing. We were greeted by the friendliest staff, taken for a walk around the jungle (where we saw monkeys, all kinds of birds, and lizards), and then served a delicious dinner. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable with amenities like coffee, tea, powerful AC and a modern bathroom. They also arranged a wonderful safari with a guide, and helped us speak with and find our taxi driver.

Really comfortable rooms with good air con. Food was also great the portions sizes were generous. We did the full day safari with breakfast and very impressive lunch provided. They made everything very easy for us thanks for a wonderful stay

Andon was an amazing host. He was friendly, helped us out with a safari. The breakfast was great, and the evening meal under the stars was so lovely.

Katagamuwa Rest is a great place to stay—calm, clean, and definitely high value for the money. The host, Asanka, is very friendly and polite, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the added kitchen facility was very convenient.
