The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He kindly allowed us to check in around 9:00 AM and even provided the room early without expecting any extra payment, which was greatly appreciated. The property itself is a beautiful, cozy vintage-style house that offers a unique and memorable experience. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained. Breakfast was exceptional and one of the highlights of our stay. Overall, this has been the best accommodation experience I’ve had so far. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a warm, comfortable, and distinctive stay.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Earthbound Residencies, and it was one of the most memorable and heartwarming travel experiences I've had in Sri Lanka. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with such kindness and sincerity by the staff. Every member of the team was incredibly attentive, warm, and genuinely invested in making my stay comfortable and enjoyable. There’s a real sense of care in everything they do—from check-in to daily service to little thoughtful touches like help with breakfast times or simply checking in with a smile. The rooftop terrace deserves a special mention—it’s absolutely stunning. The panoramic views of Kandy and the surrounding mountains are breathtaking. Whether you're enjoying a quiet morning with a cup of tea or unwinding in the evening under the stars, the atmosphere is tranquil and inspiring. It’s one of those rare places where time slows down and you can truly relax. My room (Deluxe Double with Balcony) was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The bed was soft, the linens fresh, and everything was spotless. I loved the eco-conscious touches—upcycled decor and artwork made from recycled materials—which made the space feel both modern and meaningful. The balcony view was beautiful, and it added to the calm vibe of the entire stay. Now, let’s talk about the food. Every meal I had here was delicious, fresh, and clearly made with love. The breakfast was beautifully presented, with local ingredients and flavors that felt both nourishing and exciting. You could really taste the freshness. There’s something special about having such thoughtfully prepared food while surrounded by nature and great views. One thing I particularly appreciated was the balance between nature, comfort, and sustainability. Earthbound Residencies has a strong eco-friendly ethos, and it shows in the small details—like the recycled postcard kits in the room, the use of sustainable materials, and their gentle encouragement of mindful travel.

A great place to abandon all your usual life to emmerse yourself in Mother Nature, where you wake up on an endless scene of green mountains and only the voice of birds and various animals with a humid cold breeze. The swimming pool is a refuge after a day of tourist movement. The breakfast is an English style one with toast, butter, jam, fruits and omlette. You may have some monkey visitors in the front/back yards (don’t feed them). Expect to see lizards and mosquito repellent is a smart daily companion. Finally, the host, Mr. Smith, is a great help that he dedicates himself to make you happy by coordinating your trips from/to the hotel. Besides, the other two staff are very friendly and dedicated to provide the best service. On the top of everything, the people in general are very nice and friendly.

Melheim Kandy Villas We only write five-star reviews, but only when five stars are really deserved. In the case of Melheim Kandy Villas we wish we had ten stars to give! All things considered, Melheim Kandy might be the best place we've ever stayed. Hotel Located high in the hills of one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in Kandy, the hotel commands a beautiful view down a valley with slopes covered in towering pines. Several African Tulip Trees nearby were stunning in their full crimson blooms, while more distant green canopy trees provided dappled sun on the lawns. The hotel common areas are very beautiful, with highly polished stone floors, art objects, and a wide variety of antiques displayed. There are also many reprints of Sri Lankan historical photographs on the walls. There are both indoor and patio dining areas available, depending on the weather and your preference. The pool area is tidy and the clear water was slightly chilly, which we loved. Plenty of sun was available for warming on the lounges after our refreshing daily dips. Overall the atmosphere is very rich and luxurious, but still comfortable and welcoming. Room We walked into a fresh and well-lit large room (303), with a soaring ceiling, well appointed and perfectly clean. The bathroom appeared newly remodeled, and included full amenities. Every room we saw includes a spacious balcony with lovely chairs and table. Instant coffee, tea, creamer, sugar and kettle are in the room. These and bottles of water are supplied daily. There was a small fridge. The WiFi was strong in our room and available throughout the hotel. Food The Western and traditional Sri Lanka meals by Asela were equally delicious. The pork chops were to die for. Oh, and the mashed potatoes were SO tasty. The Sri Lankan dinner was the tastiest of our whole trip, during which we tried ten or more. Wow! 🥰 We ate all three meals at the hotel both days. Our only complaint was that breakfast was way more than we could eat.

What we loved: Serenique Resort is a true gem for anyone looking to disconnect. The setting is stunning—completely surrounded by nature and incredibly peaceful. The hospitality was exceptional; the staff were warm and attentive from the moment we arrived. We also really enjoyed the food, especially the breakfast, which was a delicious mix of traditional Sri Lankan and European dishes. Location: Excellent! It’s the perfect, quiet base for visiting the main tourist sites around Kandy while still feeling a world away from the hustle and bustle. Highly recommended for a calm and serene getaway.

We were glad to stay in Stellar Inn in Peradeniya instead of Kandy. (Kandy is only 7 km away) Peradeniya is not touristy at all and we actually like it that way better. We got to experience a more authentic Sri Lankan town. The hotel is new, modern and very clean. The room size is large. The beds are exceptionally comfortable. There are blackout curtains and the AC works great. There is a kettle, cups, tea and coffee and water in the room. The Royal Botanical Garden is within walking distance and we thouroughly enjoyed it! Initially we planned on staying here 1 night but because we liked it so much we stayed 2 nights. The staff and manager were very helpful and accomodated our special requests. After we left the hotel and were well on our way to another town, the manager called, informing us that we forgot our Apple tablet in the room! He then promptly worked on having it sent to us via a reputable courier Domex. We received the tablet the following morning! The courier cost was only 1000 LKR. I liked the Actual Hill Top view and the Room with exceptional facilities that is worth the price I paid.

It was a wonderful day in the heart of Peradeniya.This place could be the best place to stay before you visit Ella or Kandy city.you can get Kandy -Ella train at Sarasaviuyana train station or at Peradeniya train station..Both are located 2.5km away from this place.Kandy city centre, Kandy Tooth relic temple is 6km away.Peradeniya Royal botanical garden is 3km away.you can visit Kandy Tooth relic temple,Bahirawakanda Temple,Udawatte tropical rain forest and temple is 30 minutes travel by Bus or tuk tuk.you don't want to go through a busy ,big city and make sure to get a seat on a train or a bus to travel Ella or Sigiriya rock fortress...you can get it by just walking 20 minutes.we decided to book this homestay a few stops before Kandy city.it was a great choice as not only we got a help to get a ticket to Ella train.We spent wonderful day with host family with their 3 kids talking,playing cards,.Host family speak very good English and they are well mannered with foreigners.we decided to stay two more days to visit Peradeniya university garden .it is away from walking distance.According to my travel experience Kandy/Peradeniya are best cities to stay and look around and taste traditional Sri Lankan foods,fruits and culture.They offered us traditional Sri Lankan food for breakfast,lunch and dinner.it was extremely delicious and low in spice you can get nice mountain hike by walking to Hanthana mountain range.it is 500m away.This place is located very next to Kandy-Mahakanda Bus road ..it gets 40 minutes by Bus and 9 km away from Kandy city centre ..If I visit Sri Lanka again ,I will book this place..sure ....I am a Denmark traveller and this experience is amazing...

What a welcoming and generous host! The view was outstanding, the food portions were huge and delicious, and we felt right at home.

Kay’s Den is such a beautiful and peaceful place, surrounded by paddy fields and greenery. The house is really spacious, with multiple floors, balconies, plenty of seating areas, and both front and back gardens. We had the entire place to ourselves, which gave us great privacy and made the stay even better. Everything was clean and well maintained. The kitchen was fully equipped, so cooking was easy..We even ended up baking. We loved cycling through the fields on the free bicycles, such a thoughtful touch. The neighborhood is very calm, and the Sri Lankan’s biggest river, the Mahaweli, was just a short walk away, which made the stay super relaxing. Honestly, we wish we could have stayed longer. The staff was always available and very helpful throughout our stay.

I stayed at Varsity Lodge and had a pleasant experience overall. Despite a very late check-in and an early checkout due to some personal incidents, the owner was incredibly flexible and accommodating. Me and my family stayed in two air-con rooms for two nights, and I must say that the rooms were spotless, with the bathrooms, beds, and air conditioning all in excellent condition. It was a comfortable stay.

Asanka was extremely helpful! He taught us lots about Sri Lanka. He went out of his way to ensure we were well looked after. He helped us get tickets on the Ella train. The breakfast was DELICIOUS!

Highly recommended . Place was very clean and had great amenities. Quiet and safe . Great view from bedroom and rooftop patio . Great friendly hosts . Full kitchen access . Close to train station . Pleasantly surprised . No complaints !

Location , and freedom we hope to visit again

We had an amazing stay with Shiva and his family who treated us like part of the family. Room had amazing view. If we are back in Kandy will definitely return here! Thank you for the hospitality.
