The owners were so nice and helpful in welcoming us for one night. The lodge is spectacular and offers views you can’t find anywhere else in the world. The staff is also super.

This place is pure paradise, and we're incredibly grateful to have found it. Everything was exceptional - the accommodation, the staff, the location, the views, and the activities both on the property and nearby were all 10/10. The accommodation is beautiful, thoughtfully designed, and very well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We truly couldn't have asked for a better experience and can't wait to come back one day.

Solitaire roadhouse is hardly-miss-place for roadtrippers visiting Sesriem. It is definitely the best value for the money: Perfect position for Sesriem / Walvis Bay / Windhoek cruising. The lodge is very stylish: chain of big rooms surrounding a desert garden decorated with sukulent (cactus) flowers. In the middle of garden there is refreshing pool. Place has restaurant with good food (breakfast, dinner) and the best bakery of 1000 kms around (definitely try famous apple pie). Wifi, hot water, nice staff, etc. all this makes Solitaire worth of visit. Walvis Bay: 3,5 hours, Sesriem: 2 hours (very bad road, but doable).

Camp Gecko - PRIVATE NATURE RESERVE; TENTED CAMP AND CAMPSITE in Spaarwater provides accommodations with a garden and barbecue facilities.

Camp Gecko is one of the best memories of our trip! The setting of the large, comfortable tents in the quiet of the desert; the fantastic dinner braai packs with venison steak, salad, home-made bread and even a dessert (as we were not set up for camping, we were given crockery to use for our meal); the swim in the fish pond/pool with mountains in the background; the long shared breakfast table, where we met interesting fellow travellers. The owner Anna and Ernst at reception, who were both lovely, and the beer in the fridge there which was always cold :). We are seriously considering going back there for a longer stay!
