Cheap hotels in Monsanto

This little place had every thing we needed. It was adorable.

The room was so unique, sparkling clean, modern and comfortable. Best night’s sleep! The breakfast was beyond what anyone could eat at one sitting, fresh and beautifully set on their outside patio overlooking all of Monsanto. Best of all - the owners were warm and wonderful hosts. This might be the best hospitality we have ever run across. Please stay and/or eat at this establishment when visiting Monsanto!

The terrace was my favourite spot. The typical rustic decoration and type of traditional architecture style is very charming. The view from the terrace is breathing and the location of the house is indeed excellent. It was a lovely stay.

This property is cozy and comfortable nestled in the center of this charming boulder filled wonder of a village. The property is a quick walk up to the castle and a fascinating stroll through the boulder laden streets. Eloiza is an amazing host. She met us at the town square and delivered our luggage to the property, a two minute ride and a five minute walk. It was raining when we arrived and she brought us delicious vegetable soup, home made cookies and delicious full bodied wine from the Monsanto region. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Eloiza gave us excellent suggestions regarding other places to explore in the area.

Monsanto is truly a place to visit and I wonder how this village ever came to be. Loads of history and charm and rusticness everywhere. Our accommodation, which was novel in itself ( low doors, sloped wooden beamed ceilngs & whitewashed stone walls) added so much character to this place. The housekeping couple who showed us in where so sweet and caring. It was raining cats & dogs and by the time we found the property we were soaked. They quickly got the wood fire going and showed up repeatedly at the door with more firewood and to check on us! Thankyou! There were tons of blankets for the beds and the kitchen had some hi end cooking equipment ( that could use instruction manuals) and loads of hot water. When the sun came out we went out onto the patio and enjoyed some wine as the sun was setting - fantastic views.

Great location although a little hard to find using google maps (had us on the topside not where the door was located). Great breakfast. Fantastic location. Parking is a little down the hill.

Breakfast was amazing. Both Zion and Natalia were so friendly.

Great space to stay with kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms with individual a/c in each room as well as kitchen/living room

It is our best stay in Portugal in two weeks! It is a beautiful old house with his own character! Fresh fruits from the owner's garden, home-made cookies and marmalade! The owner, Sr. Elísio, host, builder, made us feel like we were a family member. He stopped by one evening and brought us to his farm, we tested his own vine and brandy. His life story was very interesting. The hospitality at its highest! Hole house just for our family! Quiet place, fresh air, old village! Monsanto is a magic place!

If you like tranquility, a very silent place, breathtaking view (the mountains around are very nice, especially in the golden hour of the day), this is the place for you. The house is very nice, very well equipped. The staff is very helpful and acessible. Will come back again for sure.
