CanadaThis is such a unique stay right on Lake Titicaca. Anyone visiting this area should treat themselves to a stay on one of the floating islands. Our stay here, with Willie and his lovely family was fantastic. We stayed in one of the two rooms he built on his island. The room is large and all sides are windows so you can look out on the lake from anywhere. The bed is big and so comfortable with many warm blankets. We visited in rainy season and while we did get rain, we also got a fair bit of sun as well. The room is warm in the day but gets quite cold at night (January) but there is a propane heater that works well. The electricity and hot water are solar powered and even though there was rain, we always had hot water. This is an all inclusive so breakfast, lunch and dinner were included. Willie's wive is an amazing cook and we enjoyed every meal and they were generous portions. Willie took us out on the lake twice, once for a demo of how the floating islands are built and once to tour the various islands.
This really is a wonderful way to spend a day or 2 on the lake. We highly recommend choosing this property.
