Falling asleep to the sound of chirping crickets is a priceless experience after the aural onslaught that is urban Egypt. Half of the thatch huts have been replaced with lovely brick domed en suite rooms. I stayed in both and while the brick rooms have ensuite plumbing, there was a certain nostalgic charm and quiet in the thatch hut. I was there in winter and the thatch hut was comfortable inside, and the thick bedding ensured a warm and comfortable sleep. Meals were simple and tasty. I was surprised to be served fish so deep in the desert, delicious fish and chips in fact! Thank you Badry and sons, I look forward to my next visit.
