United StatesWonderful opportunity to stay in an authentic antique farmhouse (150 years old?). The host, Hiro, has been restoring it beautifully in the old-style while fully updated the modern amenities (bathroom and kitchen). Tatami floors throughout, all very clean and in great condition. Hiro made us dinner, rice on a traditional wood stove, and a central firepit for grilling in the center of the large common space. Also provided is a fulfilling homemade japanese breakfast. The location is a small, quiet farming village at rhe foot of thr mountains near the lake, but only about 5 minutes by car to the lake and nearby town with shops and things.
