Quiet place, you really feel that you are in the middle of a jungle, the shared room I used was comfy and clean, plenty of showers to accommodate all the guests of the shared rooms, transportation included from and to the airport/Sandakan city center, generous and tasty meals included in the price, lovely and polite staff, spacious amenities

The amazing staff personalized my whole stay with what I like to eat and which animals I want to see today. I felt very special because of their highest level customer service. The place is located in the middle of the jungle, so you can get all the animals coming to your door. I got civets, bats and broadbill birds. The food is amazing and the whole experience is great. The place just reopened so all the bedding and towels are freshly new, the same with boat and life jackets. My bed was hard, but I really liked it this way. There is internet in the restaurant/ chilling area.

Everything was perfect. Food, trip and house

I cannot rate this place highly enough. Firstly the staff were the nicest bunch of people, who genuinely care that the guests have a great trip, and are passionate about the environment and the wildlife. Secondly, this is the only place in the area actually inside the jungle, rather than on the river. And that matters because you're much more likely to see an Orang utan in the wild staying here. We were lucky enough to see one, and the guys running the place were overjoyed for us. It was a truly breathtaking moment. And we saw monitor lizards and Hornbills causally wandering/ flying around. The guys running the place could not do enough for us. Also the food was great, and included. Travel is quite a hobby for me, I have been travelling the world regularly for over 30 years now and I have stayed in a lot of places, from luxury hotels to eco-resorts etc. This rates as high as any experience I have had anywhere. I wish there were more places run this well and with this much passion in the world.

I would give more than five stars for service if I could. Due to the recent floods in East Malaysia, we had to return from the river lodge to Sepilok. Tiffany was amazing in sorting out and organising everything. They put us up at Sepilok Jungle Resort and sorted out various tours and activities for us in place of what we would have had at BAL. Their food was top notch, the rooms were spacious and comfortable with Air Con and the staff were all super friendly. We also managed to see some incredible wildlife before we had to leave. Thank you to the staff, and Tiffany, for all they did.
