Fabulous stay over the holidays at such a lovely lodge. Quiet and comfortable with clean, private rooms and many communal spaces to enjoy nature and other guests. The food is extraordinary, Dan is a fabulous cook, can’t say enough good things about eating here! Both Dan and Brian went out of their way to be helpful and welcoming, working to arrange transport and activities and providing lots of advice. You can tell they both have put so much into the property and their service. The staff is friendly as well. Highly recommend!

Everything! The staff were beautiful, rooms amazing and facilities were great. We had so much fun on the water slide and loved the extras, like the jungle walk. The room wasn’t too hot at all. We had the most memorable time.

Best Place to stay in bocas, beds are very nice, parties but you can sleep well too, out of the noisy town, beautiful beaches nearby, i like the Pirate Design

Amazing pool, Miriam the host was wonderful. Very accommodating and kind. Helped us plan what to do for the day, phoned tours for us and got us taxis. Top notch. Our kids 7, 11 loved it as well. We heard howler monkeys in the morning and took a swim in the pool at night. I would come here again and recommend to my friends and family.

The hotel is located in a very quite a natural area, with wonderful small path were our kids could spot caimans, slots and diferentes kinds of birds. Staff was really friendly and helpful all the time and our cabin was clean and with direct entrance to e The watwe

The property is beautiful and feels very secluded and quiet despite how easy our hosts made it to get around! They are the most caring people and absolutely made our stay incredible.

Pure Roots is a magical place! You are in the jungle and see all kinds of birds and wildlife, but you still have all of your comforts, like a nice bed, a beautiful relaxing space with a deck and hammock, a clean bathroom and hot shower. Jen cooks amazing dishes and always has the coffee on when you arrive for breakfast. She accommodates your dietary needs and the food includes lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. You can even watch her machete a fresh coconut for you to drink from, to get an electrolyte boost! I stayed for 5 nights.

Meghan and Ryan are the absolute best hosts I've had in a while. They are very friendly and always open to giving advice or help. This place is a private and calm gem hidden in plain sight, just a couple of minutes from Isla Colón.

The food was incredible. Every meal was different, had multiple courses and was the best food we ate on our whole trip through Central America! The view was amazing. I will definitely recommend this accommodation to all my friends and family :) I also really enjoyed that all the activities were run by local guides. We learnt a lot about the local culture, wildlife and history of the area and all the guides spoke great English.

I was looking for a hotel where I could relax before a long flight, and Play Bluff Hotel exceeded my expectations. When I walked to my room, it was like walking through a tranquil natural landscape with fresh air, which was super calming. The beachfront is well-kept, and there are hammocks where you can take a nap while being swept by the sea. You couldn't ask for more. The room was beautifully decorated and clean. The surroundings made you feel like you were staying in nature, listening to the sounds of the waves, insects, and birds. I was lucky enough to see sloths and monkeys at the hotel, which was just a short walk away. They have a beautiful, spacious yoga deck where I could practice, and the owner is an energy healer. Her energy is magnificent. They have a spa that provides massages and energy healing. I can see that a lot of work is being done here, with the hydroponic farm and organic farming. They’re doing a great job for Mother Nature. Everyone at the hotel is friendly. The service is good. One of the highlights is the Asian food, which I missed so much. I highly recommend this hotel for those looking to connect with nature. It's definitely worth it, especially if you have kids. One highlight was the jungle walk I took with the owner. It was amazing to see the ancient jungle with magnificent old trees that have been there for years. I also want to thank Mike from the reservation office who fully refunded my one-day late check-in because I was under the weather on the day I was supposed to check in.

Wonderful place, if you are looking for peace and nature, this is where you should stay. Rooms are very comfortable, the hosts are amazing, breakfast and dinner were also delicious. Dogs are very friendly and cute. 15 minutes boat from Bocas Del Toro downtown.

Johnny and Susana are exceptional hosts. Anything we needed, they were both right on it. Their knowledge of the island, culture and surroundings were very helpful. I have to add, the bed and pillows were great. I even asked Johnny where he bought them.

Bocas Garden Lodges are very unique and beautiful location to stay when on Island Colon (main Island of Bocas del Toro). Close to several restaurants plus Scully's (Beach Bar and Scooter rental). Florian and Daniela were great hosts and we very much enjoyed our conversations and the extras provided.

Maxi and his wife were such lovely hosts. They went out of their way to make sure that we had all the info that we needed about the area, including access to the surfbreaks, which was very much appreciated. Lovely treehouses that were built with love and thought by the owners. Very eco-minded, which we support 100 percent. The cabin was suspended in the jungle in a very quiet location, yet close to the beaches, which were a 5 minute walk away. Every day we could hear the Howler monkeys in the distance and hear and see the wide variety of tropical birds. Listening to the sounds of nature was so peaceful. We loved our stay there!

Host went out of his way to accommodate and make us comfortable. Location was off the beaten path so transportation was a bit of a chore without a car.

We've never had a better host than Jennifer! She deserves 10 out of 10 stars - amazingly thorough communication, quick responses, accurate information, super friendly & helpful. She knows everyone in Bocas and helped us set up everything from a private boat tour to a birthday cake. It's worth booking here just for her knowledge! Location - in Playa Bluff, a 25 min taxi which costs between $15-$20 each way depending on the time of day. You can also take a colectivo for $3.50/person until about 6pm when it stops running. We loved the more remote location but it's a long bumpy road which may not work for everyone. There are a couple of restaurants within super easy walking distance and a gorgeous beach with big waves. Howler monkeys were in the trees out front along with lots of gorgeous Oropendula birds, agoutis, etc. The house has a fantastic front porch/dining area where we hung out during rain showers. We didn't cook, so can't speak to kitchen amenities but there's an Italian coffeemaker and a fridge.

Gorgeous! Waking up to the sounds of the forest was my favorite part. It’s quiet and beautiful.

Very beautiful villa, magical place. The corals are right in front of the house, perfect for snorkeling, but always stay careful to preserve this amazing nature. The hosts were really welcoming and helped us with the boat transfers. The villa proposes kayaks, paddles and snorkeling equipment, which is very pleasant. We enjoyed a great view from our room. The dinner option was delicious too !
