South AfricaWe had a wonderful stay at Tugela River Lodge. The service was warm, friendly, and welcoming throughout, which made the stay feel relaxed from the moment we arrived.
The setting is absolutely beautiful. Being able to swim and kayak in the river was a real highlight, and the walking trails were excellent. Early mornings were especially memorable, with the sun coming up as the mist and morning dew slowly lifted over the landscape.
What made it even better was that we could take our five Yorkies with us. They enjoyed the river, trails, and open space just as much as we did. It is rare to find a place that is this peaceful, scenic, and genuinely pet-friendly.
We left feeling rested and grateful. We would happily return and recommend Tugela River Lodge to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing break in nature.

United KingdomThe accommodation was amazing, comfy, cosy, lovely décor. Everything was provided for us. My brother's accommodation was perfect for him too. It was lovely to have the choice of either sitting out in the swing chair at our place, sitting up for a meal under shelter together. Or popping around to my brother's cottage and sitting on the verandah, watching and listening to the variety of birds at the damn.
The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Especially Sipwe and Jeanise ( sorry not sure how to spell them). It was a luxury to have our clothes laundered and ironed, thank you. The setting was very pretty and peaceful. Thank you :)

AustraliaWe had an exceptional stay. Chris and Magda were warm, gracious, and genuinely thoughtful in every detail. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we felt welcomed and well looked after.
The setting is serene and peaceful, with stunning views of the mountains and the lake right from the property. It was so calm and beautiful that we often had to push ourselves to leave and explore the area because it was so tempting to simply stay and enjoy the surroundings.
The accommodation itself is beautifully kept, with impeccable housekeeping and a level of care in how everything is thoughtfully appointed that immediately stands out. Chris and Magda truly have hosting down to an art form.
This is easily the best place we’ve stayed in South Africa and one of the best anywhere in our travels around the world.
Chris, Magda: Thank you so very much for making our time there so memorable. We look forward to staying with you again.

RussiaThree Tree Hill Lodge is located pretty far away from the city where I stayed while in 🇿🇦, though 5 hours on a car were worth it. Vast amount of space for hiking, mountain biking and other outdoor activities. The place is beautiful and full of various plants. Being situated on a farm all the food is home made and is prepared for your choosing from a list. I really fell in love with the view from Churchill’s lodge and the lodge itself was amazing. Despite being made in an old style I found it a nice thing to get away from modern design for 2 days.
The service was great as well: they offer coffee, tea, lemonade throughout the day and three meals per day which I found decent.
Also would like to say that people there are very friendly: if something bothers you they will help and if you just want to have a conversation you will definitely have a great one!
They also accept banking cards there (ApplePay works as well, which was great because I didn’t take any cards with me😂)
