The lodge is located in Lamin Koto, directly across the river from Janjanbureh, Getting back and forth is no trouble, locals with boats will take you any time without hassle. The national park, wildlife, archaeological sites, and plenty of trails are nearby; the lodge will arrange whatever you like, but there's no pressure at all if you want to explore on you own or make other arrangements. The staff is wonderful: Maxi handled every challenge with unflappable calm, Ibrahim and Omar cooked meals for us and took care of the property and guests, and we all became friends over the course of our stay. I've never felt safer or better looked after than at the Finfoot Lodge.
