Very special place, friendly staff, beautiful nature activities

I don’t think we could have had a better first experience in the Amazon. Favio, the owner and guide, is exceptional. He speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish fluently and is extremely knowledgeable about the area. He is deeply committed to making sure you have as much contact with nature as possible and get the most out of what the region offers. While when booking, it may not be immediately clear how the tours/days work, everything is actually based on your arrival and departure times to the region. They coordinate pick-up and drop-off perfectly, wherever you are, and from there, Favio rearranges the activities so you always have something to do or see (so don’t expect tours to happen on the exact days listed). He will keep you busy from dawn to dusk and make sure the only time you spend back at the lodge is to sleep and eat—so if you are looking just to rest, this is not your place. The food is great, local, and abundant. Accommodations are simple and modest, not luxurious, because the focus is on the experience. If luxury is what you want, this is not for you. But if you are seeking adventure, this place is amazing. We slept in the jungle, spent hours traveling by boat, and were constantly in awe of the surroundings. You may find tours to some of the same places or activities elsewhere, but having Favio truly makes the difference—he takes the time to help you appreciate what is around you, no rush if you are enjoying. He grew up in the area, and it is a pleasure to talk with him. The location also makes you feel fully immersed in the Amazon. If you want something fancy and quiet, look elsewhere. If you want to be amazed by nature and culture, this is it. thank you amigo I will be back for sure!

People, Location and guided trips.

Very welcoming experience at the Arowana lodge. Variety of day trip tours to take lead by their English speaking guide Anderson. Family style lodge with meals and tours shared which was a great opportunity to meet new people. The AC in the rooms was great to have a reset from the heat. The journey to the lodge was long but it was so smooth and completely taken care of by the drivers along the way.

Everything, the staff is super friendly, the food is good with a mix from regional and international cuisine, the tours are breathtaking. Don’t miss sunrises and sunsets!

We had a great stay at Vista do Lago Jungle Lodge! From the start, the friendly staff made our visit fun and comfortable. We really appreciated the coordinated transport from Manaus and, later, back to the airport. The hospitality was great, and the food was delicious. The excursions were awesome. We tried a bunch of them, and each one was a new adventure. Kennedy, our English-speaking guide, was full of fun stories and a wealth of information about the plants, animals, and local culture. We learned so much from him, and he made sure we had a great time. It was a great way to explore and get to know the Amazon!

The hotel and its surroundings are fantastically beautiful. The rooms are very comfortable, if a little basic and the outdoor spaces around the rooms are great. There isn't really a restaurant per se, but there are a number of places around the property where you can have breakfast and dinner and the food is excellent. There is not a big selection of drinks, especially alcohol. If there are particular drinks you like, even beer or wine or any hard booze other than capirxhinas, you need to bring your own. But the juices provided were fresh and there is plentiful bottled water. The staff could not be friendlier or more helpful - although other than our guide who the hotel found for us, hardly anyone speaks anything other than Portuguese. The hotel offers a number of tours and the ones that are in the vicinity of the hotel are fun and interesting and easy. (See below for the only problem regarding this.) Paddling around in a canoe through the surrounding watery passageways through the jungle was great and our guide, Daniel, was incredibly knowledgeable about everything we were seeing and hearing.
