Wonderful place that exceeded my expectations!!! We did a few hiking trips with our kids (8 and 12) and it was just amazing!!! There is almost no internet connection up in the mountains, that felt like a relief and I could finally hear my own thoughts and it felt like I was meditating!!! Breathtaking views and the purest air!!!

Nice, old resort, with a lot of people, yet not so crowded as other resorts. Nice restaurants (not up on the slopes, where is not nice food and way too expensive).
Luckily almost all slopes were open. We stayed during the week (Monday-Friday) which is less crowded than during the weekend.
My son took ski lessons at Barzena ski school, for 2nd year in a row: strongly recommended! Very nice, calm teachers, who are great with kids and teach them very quick.
I strongly recommend the Happy Duck restaurant: friendly staff, home made, tasty food!
We stayed in an apartment, not a hotel, which was very nice in terms of flexibility, quietness, distance to the slopes etc.

the ski instructors are very professional and friendly - we had a great time there. can stay 6-7 days for the full experience.
food is also great.
we expected bulgaria/borovets to be a bit cheaper than the prices we anticipated.

Lovely resort ideal for first timers to the ski world.
Lovely resort ideal for first timers to the ski world. Make sure you walk past the Rila Resort and spend time on the sledging hill if you have kids. They absolutely LOVE it and the Maina bar is the best in town for welcoming staff, affordable drinks, and endless play time. The kids LOVE the free sledges and watching them go flying is half the fun.
Eat at the Green King and the Happy Duck for sure, great service and great food.
Best hot wine is at the top of the 4 man lift, but you pay for it.
Rila roofbar is ideal people watching.
Soup and fresh turkish bread for lunch is affordable and filling for lunch and finish every meal off with a chocolate crepe if you have kids to get that extra boost of energy they need for the slopes.

I love that Borovets is an easy transfer from Sofia.
I love that Borovets is an easy transfer from Sofia. It is not an enormous ski area but there is something for everyone from beginner to experienced, for kids, teens, and grown ups.
I have only used Borosports and found both the ski depots and the instructors excellent. THe rental equipment is relatively new and well serviced.
Some of the lift infrastructure is showing its age and queues can be long at peak times - it's worth getting up early to be on the slopes as soon as lifts start.

The lack of communication from your company is diabolical. I went to hotel morau reception once and asked about the internet. The receptionist was very aggressive and rude, I was a woman on her own and he was accompanied by other men. This was very intimidation. He also lied and said he had nothing to do with Chalet Musala but then I was told by the supervisor who gave me my deposit back that he was. Who is lying?
The sauna never worked in the entirety of our stay. Nor did the internet. The sofa was broken and filthy, we had to sit on the cushions from the chairs outside due to the broken sofa. The sauna leaked the shower leaked. The curtains were broken. The carpet was thread bare. The accommodation wasn’t cleaned. There were beer bottle tops on the work tops. I don’t drink beer. I was accused of damaging the property by message. When the supervisor came for me to hand the keys back I asked her to check the property thoroughly, she said there is no problems and gave me my full deposit back, so you lied again. The total lack of communication with your company was terrible. The transfer man said he was amazed that I stayed at this property as nobody hardly stays there as it is that bad.

Very nice hotel. Beautiful lobby. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful rooms. Very good breakfast and dinner with a good variety of dishes. Clean. Comfortable beds. Good spa and sauna. Great location near gondola. There is a ski and snowboard rental in the hotel ( Traventura). We have a great and comfortable stay in this hotel. Definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful weekend away at Iglika Hotel - the location is great, quiet, safe. Very cosy and beautiful hotel, modern facilities and modern furnish. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly, they made us feel so welcome! A range of massages which require pre-booking the day before but absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!

Very nice apartment in a hotel complex. Very clean and spacious, nice bed and balcony. It is very close to the Borovets gondola and the restaurants, everything is within walking distance. Super value for money!
