They were super accommodating. I had without realizing it booked a room on top floor and my husband cant do the stairs and even though they were very busy the owner made sure that we got a room with double beds on bottom floor( we had booked a king size bed) and said no charge for extra bed. Amazing people.

Windswept on the Trent is off the beaten path but well worth the effort. We were traveling through the area from Illinois so my daughter could try some horses and I found this property searching for highly rated places to stay. The property is beautiful. There were lots of water activities (swimming, kayaks, hot tub, etc.) although we didn't have the time for those on this trip. Next time we'll stay for 2 nights or more so we will have time to really enjoy the property. We stayed in the coach house which was perfect for my daughter and I. I was skeptical at first about the pull out sofa for her but it turned out to be as comfy as a bed. Elaine could not have been a kinder hostess. She was hosting some friends while we were there and they invited us to eat dinner with them and the other kids who were there included my daughter when they watched a movie after dinner. I could not have been happier with the accommodations and would definitely return if I am ever back in the area.

Elise, host was very welcoming and made great breakfast both days we were there. Love home made yogurt with the fresh fruit and granola. Room was a bit small, however rest of the home is spacious with lots of things to read and explore.

Hastings is a lovely town with a very welcoming pub.

Hastings is a lovely town with a very welcoming pub. Even in a cold day of fall, walking around is a pleasure. The snow made the landscape even more beautiful. Unfortunately, as in most rural areas, you need a car to explore it. How nice would it be to have some local buses to explore nearby towns! That would make an already great place almost perfect!
